On every seasonal beach below, dogs are welcome before 10am and after 6pm — even in peak August. Early-morning runs and evening strolls are always allowed. The bans only cover 10am–6pm.

Can I take my dog to the beach in Cornwall in summer?
Yes. Cornwall Council restricts dogs on 46 beaches in summer, but the ban only applies between 10am and 6pm. Before 10am and after 6pm — every morning and evening — dogs are welcome on all of them, and dozens of other Cornish beaches have no restriction at all.
What time can dogs go on Cornwall's restricted beaches?
Before 10am and after 6pm, every day, even in peak August. The seasonal bans only cover the hours of 10am to 6pm, so early-morning and evening walks are always allowed.
When does the Cornwall dog beach ban start and end?
Blue Flag and award beaches are restricted from 15 May to 30 September. Most other beaches are restricted from 1 July to 31 August. Both run 10am–6pm. Summerleaze in Bude asks for dogs on a lead from 21 May to 30 September.
Which Cornwall beaches allow dogs all year round?
Popular year-round dog beaches that are not on the Council's restricted list include Gwithian, Watergate Bay, Holywell Bay, Harlyn Bay, Daymer Bay and Porthkidney Sands. Always check local signage when you arrive.
Are dogs banned on St Ives beaches?
On Porthmeor, Porthminster and Carbis Bay dogs are banned 15 May–30 September (10am–6pm). On Porthgwidden and St Ives Harbour beach the ban runs 1 July–31 August. Bamaluz beach welcomes dogs all year.
