Lerryn

Lerryn is a peaceful creekside village in south east Cornwall, tucked into a wooded valley between Lostwithiel and Fowey. It is small, quiet and full of old-fashioned charm, making it ideal for visitors who enjoy riverside walks, wildlife, village pubs and slower days away from the coast’s busier spots.

The river is the heart of Lerryn. At low tide, the stepping stones are a lovely feature, while at higher tide the creek fills with water and becomes perfect for watching birds, boats and reflections beneath the trees. It is a beautiful place for a gentle wander, especially in spring or autumn when the woodland colours are at their best.

For food and drink, The Ship Inn is the main village pub, offering a traditional place to stop for a meal, drink or post-walk pause. There is also a friendly village shop, useful for picnic supplies or simple treats before heading out.

Walking is one of Lerryn’s best bits. Follow paths through Ethy Woods, along the creek and towards St Winnow for peaceful river views, woodland trails and glimpses of the wider Fowey estuary. Nearby Lostwithiel, Fowey and the National Trust’s Lanhydrock make easy additions to a stay.
