How we choose
A smaller list, on purpose
Personally approved before listing
Pure Cornwall is a listing site, but a selective one. Before any property goes live on this site, we manually approve them to ensure it fits the bill.
Coast, creek, harbour, moor
Cornwall isn't one place. It's the surf beaches of the north coast, the wooded creeks of the Roseland, the harbour towns of Padstow and St Ives, the wild headlands of Penwith, and the quiet farmland between. We've split the collection across North, South and West Cornwall so you can shortlist by feel, not by postcode — sandy and exposed, sheltered and tidal, or somewhere in between.
Filtered by what actually shapes a stay
The filters above aren't a sales taxonomy. They're the things that decide whether a holiday works — a dog in tow, a hot tub at the end of the coast path, a ground-floor bedroom for grandparents, a cot already in the cottage so you're not flying down with one strapped to the roof box. Stack them as you need.
Lettings and listings, kept honest
Our cottages split two ways. Lettings book live with prices, calendar and instant confirmation. Listings are properties whose owners take enquiries directly — we put you in touch, you take it from there. Both are held to the same standard before they go on the page; the difference is admin, not quality. You'll see which is which as you click through.
What we don't do
We don't list every cottage in Cornwall. We don't pad the catalogue to look bigger. We don't take hidden booking fees or stack on surprise cleaning charges at checkout. The price on the property page is the price you pay. If something's wrong on a stay, you call us and we sort it — no portals, no ticket queues, no eight-step forms.
Why a smaller list is the better list
There are sites with four thousand Cornish properties. We've spent seven years working out that a list that big is impossible to actually choose from — and impossible for anyone to vouch for honestly. A smaller, more considered selection means we can answer specific questions, recommend without hedging, and know which cottage suits which kind of week. Tell us what you're after and we'll come back with three options, not three hundred.

The things people ask before they book

For the widest pick of dates and properties, book six to nine months ahead — particularly for school holidays, August, and the long Easter and half-term weekends, which sell out first. For shoulder-season breaks (May, late September, October half term), three to four months is usually enough. Late deals appear from around six weeks out as plans change.
