Superb detached barn conversion in idyllic country landscape with fabulous rural outlook. Dairy Cottage offers homely accommodation all on one level. The cosy living room has sofas facing the warming wood burner, perfect on chilly days and there is a separate kitchen with breakfast bar and a sun room dining room in which to relax and enjoy the views over the garden. There are two bedrooms, one double with en-suite wet room and WC and a twin room that can become a double (6ft) upon request. Both bedrooms have 21” TV. There is also a family bathroom with bath and shower over. There is an enclosed pretty garden with lawn, paving and steps and also a pond. Off-road parking is available for three cars. Cardinham Woods and cafe are within a 3 minute drive (or a 20 minute walk!) and welcome cyclists, ramblers and dog walkers alike. The ancient town of Bodmin, one of the oldest towns in Cornwall and mentioned in the Doomsday book, is close-by for restaurants, cafes, shops and the famous Bodmin Jail. Our property is located equidistant from the Atlantic and the Cornish Riviera coastline, but possibly the best beaches can be found at Rock, Polzeath and Mawgan Porth – all of which are within a 30 minute drive and perfect for ice creams, surfing and people watching. With Padstow, Port Isaac and Wadebridge also in the vicinity, Dairy Cottage is a great choice of holiday home for families, friends and couples who will be spoilt for places to go and things to do whatever the weather and whatever the time of year.
Bodmin, the one-time County Town of Cornwall with its narrow streets, shops and pubs, is perfectly placed for exploring all that this fabulous holiday area has to offer. The outstanding surf, rugged cliffs and hidden coves of the north coast beaches and the quieter sands and river estuaries of the south coast are both 15 miles away while on the edge of town is the fascinating museum and haunting presence of the old Bodmin Jail. The popular Camel Trail for cyclists and walkers also winds its way through the town on its journey to the sea at Padstow. Close by are the open spaces and wind swept grandeur of Bodmin Moor while the incomparable Eden Project (11 miles), Falmouth’s National Maritime Museum (30 miles) and the beautiful harbour town of Padstow with its famous pubs and restaurants (16 miles) make for great days out. Also within easy reach and ideal for a fun-filled day out, guests can visit Lanhydrock House, the small town of Fowey and Charlestown with its Tall Ships. There is a good choice of country pubs and restaurants in the surrounding area.

Lovely cottage - I wish I could have stayed longer.
Mike and Jan were very helpful and friendly. I wanted to explore and maybe drive over to Padstow or go for a walk on Bodmin moor, but sadly I had to leave to get home. Maybe I'll return another time.

Perfect for our autumnal break exploring all of Cornwall.
Very comfortable and cosy with a well equipped kitchen. The wood burner made evenings in special and our hosts were very friendly and welcoming. I would definitely recommend the cottage and would return again. The wooden floors meant that as walkers you didn't have to worry about inadvertently bringing in mud!!

We had a lovely stay at Dairy Cottage.
The house is spacious, well equipped and provides a home from home feel. The property is situated at the end of a culâdeâsac and allows easy access to various places of interest as well as the main road A30. Whilst the house was very clean, we noticed a persistent damp smell in both bedrooms. This may be an issue that needs looking into. The owner of the property lives in the adjacent house but was absent during our stay. A welcome pack and fresh flowers were kindly left for us in the cottage, which was a lovely touch. On the day of arrival, we were informed of building and ground works that were to take place outside the owner's property. Whilst the builders were friendly, considered and accommodating, for example clearing the drive when we wanted to get in and out and no noise before 9am, these works were an unpleasant surprise. We booked months in advance, so they could and should have been planned differently in our view. Also, timely notice would have allowed us to change our booking if required.

Had a lovely week in the cottage, it was sunny every day, so we took advantage by having our breakfast in the conservatory every morning.
The cottage was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay. It is in a good location with easy access to main routes, so ideally situated for visiting both the north and south coasts.

Dairy Cottage is a lovely cottage in a superb location.
The owners Mike and Jan made sure we had everything we needed throughout our stay. Our 5 year old daughter loved seeing the animals each day and playing on the swing. The cottage is very well equipped and we found it to be very comfortable. The sun room is a lovely place to eat and the views from the cottage and gardens are stunning. I would highly recommend this cottage as a lovely place to take a holiday!

We had a wonderful stay with our children.
The hosts were very friendly and we loved saying hello to the chickens and their gorgeous doggies every day. It was the perfect hub for all cornish tourist spots. Perfect for families. Would love to stay again.

Fantastic week away.
The cottage was perfect! Lot's of greenery and wildlife. Very quiet and peaceful location. Jan and Mike are great hosts. The chickens were a big hit for my daughter and me. Lovely welcome basket of goodies. The cottage is well situated for travelling and exploring the area. Thank you for looking after us. We will be returning

Dairy cottage provided us with a relaxing and peaceful retreat, we didn't want it as a base to explore Cornwall but as a comfortable retreat to relax.
(We only had two days out of severn out of the cottage) Everything we needed was there and Janet and Mike was there if we needed anything else. All in all a great stay and would recommend it it anyone. We will be back for another stay.

Sadly, we cannot recommend Dairy Cottage.
The twin bedded room smelt musty and the radiator was rusty. The bathroom toilet brush holder was rusty and had left rings on the wooden floor. The back and front doors had mould growing on the insides. Outside, one lawn had long grass and the patio with the BBQ had big weeds, as did the path running behind the cottage. This was bordered by a wall that had been painted white at some point but now looks dirty. The owners were on holiday for most of our visit, but I did discuss our disappointment with Janet on their return. I was advised to contact CCH which I have done and sent photos to illustrate the problems.

We had the best time.
Mike and Jan were absolutely great hosts. Every recommendation was spot on. We are definitely coming back. The cottage was soitless and very comfortable.

Very nice and spacious cottage, close to the A30 and in an excellent location for explorations to the north, south, east and west.
The hosts, who live in an adjoining property, were friendly, helpful and unobtrusive. Recommended, especially for those seeking a good base from which to explore all areas of Cornwall, and who don't mind driving 30 minutes to reach the beach.

A quiet and peaceful location secretly situated amidst trees at the end of a cult de sac,the spacious property was a homely haven of country sliced holiday comforts .
We loved it. Large lounge and multi view aspect conservatory/ breakfast room. Comfortable and with all necessary items to make a stay easy.

Rather than give a five star rating, we would give it a ten star rating and have told the owners that.
We will be coming back again as it is a great location and love the chickens, dogs and cats.

Mike and Janet made us very welcome and we felt very much at home during our stay.
The cottage was warm, comfortable and clean. The equipment covered all of our needs and was all in good order. There was plenty to see and do nearby and the location was ideal for exploring further afield.

The owners were on site and very plesant and helpful.
We only had a short three night stay but everything was there for our comfort and it was spotlessly clean. We had a lovely welcome pack, wine, biscuits and fresh eggs. The cottage is in a peaceful spot but close to the main road giving good access to the north and south coasts of Cornwall. the woodburner made the evening warm and relaxing. The weather was unsettled but when the sun came out it was beautiful. Thank you Jan and Mike for a lovely stay.
