About

Nestled at the end of the Boscastle’s tiny port is this quaint, whitewashed bolthole, Harbour Cottage. Bring your partner to this wonderful accommodation to enjoy this corner of Cornwall, where the bustling village plays host to a sheltered natural inlet and an Elizabethan quay, which rests in an impressive amphitheatre of steep cliffs. Park up your car in the off-road spot and soak up the picturesque surroundings before you enter into the Cornish cottage that you can call home for the duration of your stay. Enter into the contemporary-style kitchen and unpack your shopping before you make the most of the quality appliances to try your hand at a local delicacy or a family favourite dish. Enjoy your meal at the dining table, where the large window floods in natural light and offers delightful views as you pop open a bottle of fizz and tuck in. After dinner, venture into the spacious sitting room, where the woodburning stove takes centre stage and character exudes from the exposed beams; snuggle up on the sofa as you flick on the TV, whilst the fire crackles in the background and offers a gentle warmth during a winter’s evening. As the evening draws to a close, look forward to catching your rest under the sheets of the plush king-size bed and wake up each morning to the beautiful views of the harbour and surrounding countryside. Immerse yourself in your surroundings by taking a stroll through the village, where you will find a plethora of shops and places to eat and drink, accompanied by the visitor centre and The Museum of Witchcraft and Magic, for a good insight into the village’s past and culture. From here, stroll to the harbour and climb on board one of the many boat trips, taking you down the coast towards Long Island, where you may catch glimpses of seals, razorbills, guillemots, and puffins. Explore the coastline further and visit the National Trust owned cliffs of Penally Point and Willapark, with a white coastguard lookout tower perched on the end boasting breath-taking views. From here, walk the famous South West Coastal Path between Boscastle and Crackington Haven, home to many features including the Strangles beach, High Cliff, which is the highest point on the path and Pentargon inlet with an impressive waterfall. Further along the coast, you and your loved one can look forward to exploring the cove of Tintagel, famous for its ruined castle and legends of King Arthur, or spend the day at the fishing village of Port Isaac, which doubles up at Port Wenn in the British television comedy drama, Doc Martin. Whatever the weather, a stay at Harbour Cottage promises to be wonderful.

Boscastle is a Cornish coastal village, just four miles away from Tintagel. There is a small harbour at the bottom of the hill, whilst in the centre there is a plethora of village shops, local restaurants and pubs offering good food, Cornish real ales and live entertainment by local musicians. Within the surrounding area, you will find cliff tops, rocky coves, wild surf, open fields and rich wildlife, as well as the famous coastal footpath.

  • Another wonderful week spent at this most perfect of properties.

Third stay here and as usual there really is nothing that could improve this property and the care taken to make it a truly wonderful stay. Beautifully clean, great welcome hamper, private parking and a superb location. Have spent many hours looking for something of a similar quality on Sykes and other websites in all areas of the country but have found nothing to rival Harbour Cottage. this really is the benchmark by which all others are judged. thank you so much for a brilliant stay. • Lovely, spacious and comfortable cottage in a very quiet position.

Comprehensive welcome pack provided - much appreciated. One very minor niggle - the outside automatic light by the bin store door wasn't working. Cottage all on one level, but several steps to get to the front door. Would definitely recommend.

  • This was our 2nd stay at Harbour Cottage, Boscastle.

We loved the cottage so much last year that we re-booked for this year whilst we were still staying there. The location, facilities and lay out suited us so well. The raindrop shower was lovely and the fluffy white towels. There were chair covers provided and doggie bowl and treats. The Welcome Pack was exceptionally generous and included Prosecco, red wine, dairy products, biscuits and a cream tea. We loved everything about this cottage where everything had been thought of for our enjoyment

  • An amazing 2nd stay at Harbour Cottage.

If I didn't know better I would think I was the 1st guest ever staying at the cottage, even though it was 18 months since my 1st visit. It was spotless and really looked after. Everything has been so well thought out to make the stay as comfortable as possible. The welcome hamper is 2nd to none and Asha enjoyed her treats. Will definitely be returning. The cottage and Boscastle itself are just magical. Thank you again! Sarah.

  • Harbour cottage was beautiful inside and out.

We had all the facilities we needed for a weeks stay. The dressing gowns , and hamper goodies including prosecco were a lovely touch. We loved our stay.

  • We had the most amazing stay at harbour cottage.

Everything was there that was needed. The welcome hamper was fantastic. We were not expecting scones with Jam and clotted cream and Prosecco . It’s the little touches that make the stay perfect for celebrating my fellas 50th birthday. The cottage is nestled perfectly by the harbour with lovely views . We would definitely come back again.

  • Harbour Cottage is one of those rare gems - a beautifully decorated property with quality appliances that also happens to be dog friendly.

We absolutely loved it! The owners have thought of everything and we had a fabulous week really relaxing and enjoying the cottage which is in such a picturesque location. Highly recommended!

  • Could not fault this property, everything you need for a comfortable stay.

The welcome pack waiting for us when we arrived was above and beyond expectations. We had a wonderful stay it's almost a shame the weather was so fantastic that we didn't get to spend more time in this wonderful cosy cottage

  • Absolutely loved this cottage!

Couldn’t have been nicer! Best cottage we have stayed in, spotlessly clean beautifully furnished and a fantastic welcome pack. Boscastle as a location is a lovely place to be and the cottage itself is located close to all the amenities the village has to offer, plus plenty of walking from your doorstep. Would definitely return and recommend to others. Many thanks to the owners for such a lovely stay!

  • We have stayed in this cottage for the 3rd time.

Never disappointed.its just an amazing cottage and it’s in an amazing area.we love Boscastle. The owners of the cottage are so good and leave a lovely hamper. They leave biscuits for the dog.it spoil us because we compare this cottage with other places we have stayed in and nothing as yet has met there standards. The only thing we don’t like is there are a lot of tics around Boscastle so every time we have walked Bella we have to check her over and brush her.we always find at least one.she does have the flea and tic ointment on.so they will drop off eventually but not nice.it will not keep us away though.Hope to come back next year.

  • Second visit to this wonderful cottage in the heart of Boscastle harbour.

We knew from experience that this would be a wonderful stay and was nice to see Cornwall and Boscastle at a different time of the year (first visit was Jan 23.) Couldn't wish for a better property to relax in and watch the tide come in and out. Will be returning in 2025 for sure

    Chris · June 2024

  • Harbour cottage is the best holiday home we have stayed in.

It is in a great location, right beside the harbour, you can hear the waves lapping and watch boats from the windows. It is very well equipped, comfortable bed and spotlessly clean. The welcome pack was generous and much appreciated.

    Ruth · May 2024

  • Very well located and spacious cottage finished with high quality materials and well thought through design.

Well equipped with necessities and highly appreciated welcome pack from the owners with personalised greeting card, provision of some essentials and nice touches relevant for the period of the year. A delight to stay and counting of returning many times.

  • Another fabulous week at Harbour Cottage.

Cottage was looking immaculate, as it did last year, and they have even improved on the the equipment provided. Welcome pack was luxurious as ever. Weather, for the time of year, was good but even when it did rain the views from the cottage across the river and harbour were fabulous. Only downside of week was a trip to Tintagel on Tuesday only to find it was closed....note to ourselves to check opening times when visiting off-season. Will be back.

    Graham · March 2024

  • Wow! Idyllic!

Perfect location with wonderful views, quaint yet beautifully appointed with a modern twist, spotlessly clean. Bed superbly comfy! Easy parking for two cars. I cannot say enough about this delightful cottage. The welcome pack was SO good. Thank you! Myself and Rosa (black Lab) have had a magical week exploring the surrounding countryside despite the unpredictable English weather!! Some walks we had to forego as just too slippery and muddy underfoot but we drove to Tintagel and had a great beach run at Crackington Haven and Widemouth Bay. Thoroughly enjoyed the daily local walks around Boscastle. We have booked again for next year.

    Catherine · March 2024

  • The property was to a very high standard.

Extremely pleased with the cottage facilities, location, everything. The welcome goodies were a lovely surprise and very welcome. Wonderful and our dog enjoyed it too

    Lesley · February 2024

  • This is an awesome property in a superb location.

It’s rare that you stay in a holiday property which is almost, if not, better than your own home. But ths is such a cottage. We have now visited 3 years running and would gladly recommend it to other couples.

    Stephen · February 2024

  • This is the second time at this cottage, and we just love it.

The location is fantastic, and the appliances and finishes are of high quality. The bed is super comfy too. The welcome hamper is a lovely touch. The instructions to use everything are clear, and we had absolutely no issues whilst there. I expect to go back.

    Nicola · February 2024

  • We have holidayed in a large number of rental properties in Europe and Harbour View is definitely one of the best.

A lovely cottage in a lovely setting - very high spec, well equipped, spotlessly clean and characterful. Topped off with an extremely generous and thoughtful welcome basket. Highly recommended.

    Eric · January 2024

  • We loved every minute of our stay at Harbour Cottage.

The owners took so much care to ensure everything you needed was provided to make our stay perfect. I wouldn’t hesitate one minute to recommend this cottage for your visit to Cornwall, without doubt my wife and I will return. It’s a very special place.

    Michael · January 2024

  • Fantastic! This cottage is first class and we had a wonderful stay.

It is tastefully appointed to the highest standard, very clean and welcoming. Even the room scent on arrival was divine. We were left a very generous welcome gift pack by the owner and it was very dog friendly. The cottage is brilliantly located for exploring north Cornwall, both by car and walks from the doorstep, and Boscastle itself is a charming place. We didn't want to leave!

    Helen · November 2023

  • We had the most wonderful stay, celebrating our first wedding anniversary.

This is by far the most luxurious dog friendly accommodation we’ve ever stayed in, it’s even better in reality than the photos! It’s designed perfectly so that you can ALL relax. The location, views, beautiful decor, general comfort of the property and the thoughtful welcome hamper/touches around the property are all first class. Harbour Cottage is a joy to come back to after a big walk and hunker down in with a bottle of wine by the woodburner. We would absolutely love to return. Thank you!
