Step inside and take a deep breath. Hawkes View is a calming space to allow guests to enjoy a restorative stay by the sea. The interiors blend soft, neutral tones — think warm whites, gentle greys and sandy beiges — with natural textures like wood and rattan to echo the surrounding Cornish landscape. In a traditional layout, downstairs you are spoiled for space. At the heart of Hawkes View is its expansive open-plan living area, which stretches across the front of the house, offering uninterrupted views of the ocean.
When you bore of the views, head to the cinema room, which is perfect for kicking back, featuring a fully-loaded 65″ smartTV with Apple TV, SKY Q, a 4K Blu-ray DVD player, plus an Xbox One gaming platform for budding gamers, or if you prefer a more physical challenge this house even features table football in the adjoining games room. Music enthusiasts will also appreciate the Bose speaker system.
The kitchen diner at Hawkes View is a culinary delight, fully equipped with a range of high-end appliances, and conveniently located next to the separate utility space. Meals can be enjoyed around the indoor dining table, which comfortably seats six, or alfresco on the sun-drenched decking, which offers panoramic sea views that you’ll want to soak up.
Upstairs, the property boasts three beautifully appointed bedrooms. The master bedroom features a king-size bed, while the second bedroom offers a super-king or twin set up based on preference; both rooms come with cushioned window seats that perfectly frame the stunning sea views, while the third bedroom is a spacious twin room. There are two modern bathrooms upstairs, one is slightly smaller with a walk-in shower, while the larger features a freestanding bath with shower attachment and a separate shower.
As well as the large glass-fronted raised decking area with plush seating, the enclosed garden is a blend of lush greenery and flowering borders, think leafy Cornish palms and luscious shrubbery, creating a tranquil haven. The outdoor dining set on the raised sun-drenched terrace caters to al fresco meals, while there’s sun loungers for basking in the sun. You’ll also find two parking spaces.

High-quality bed linen and towels are provided at all Pure Cornwall properties. Where a cot is supplied, guests are kindly asked to bring their own cot bedding.

- Bedroom two features a zip-and-link (set as a super-king or twins). There’s a sea view, window seat, freestanding wardrobe and bedside tables.

Activities
When holidaying in Carbis Bay look no further than Carbis Bay Beach. The proud recipient of a Blue Flag award, meaning it is a super-clean beach. Perfect for families with young children, the water is just right for swimming, and usually free of surfers/body boarders. If you prefer to sunbathe and relax, the spotlessly clean beach is around a mile long. With a beautifully clear sea, this fine beach is quiet; wonderful, too, for a sunset walk.
If a spa day is up your street, try the Carbis Bay Hotel’s C Bay Spa, which also has some fantastic eateries if you need to refuel for lunch, or perhaps looking for a romantic dinner out.
Situated a mile from St Ives along the coast path, it’s a wonderful stroll. Or you can hop on the St Ives Bay line at Carbis Bay for a short but pretty train ride. For beach lovers, there are plenty more to choose from… Porthmeor Beach, Porthgwidden Beach, Godrevy, Porthkidney Beach to name but a few. Families and couples will enjoy relaxing on the sand or playing in the water. St Ives Surf School offers sessions for surfing, kayaking, paddleboarding and coasteering. All great fun! If you prefer to stay a little drier though, St Ives Boat Trips run sea-life safaris to see the local dolphins and seals!
One of St Ives most well-known attractions is the Tate St Ives, which is one of only four Tate galleries in the UK and is a haven for lovers of modern art. Artists praise St Ives for its beautiful light and it has inspired many pieces.
The cobbled streets of St Ives are home to many shops, galleries and cafes and most businesses are small independents or artisans. Check out Cornwall Soapbox for handmade soaps and aromatherapy products made in Cornwall!
When visiting St Ives, there are many bars, restaurants and cafes to choose from. Porthminster Kitchen regularly receives great reviews and has a strong focus on fresh local food or head to Blas Burgerworks for a tasty handcrafted burger using ingredients sourced from the area.
St Ives and Carbis Bay sit at the bottom of the A30, so if you are looking to explore more of the Cornwall coast, then this is a great base and you can book ferries for day trips to the Scilly Isles from Penzance (only a 20 minute drive away).
