Tucked away at the top of the hill that leads down in to the attractive fishing village of Boscastle, you will find this traditional, stone, semi-detached cottage which has been renovated throughout in 2023. Jarvies Cottage is perfect for a small family or two couples, and has a roaring wood burner that you can cosy up in front of on those cooler evenings. Enjoy a delicious meal in the dining room/conservatory, and then step out into the enclosed garden with a glass of your favourite tipple.
Boscastle is a unique fishing village, steeped in history, with a picturesque harbour, and many walks, shops, pubs and restaurants. Down the coast is Port Isaac, where the TV series Doc Martin is filmed, and just a little further along is Padstow where you’ll find Rick Stein’s famous fish restaurant. Nearby you will also find Tintagel, the mythical home of King Arthur. The lovely sandy beach at Trebartwith Strand is only 4 miles away, and horse riding and golf are also close by. You can also easily reach Polzeath, Rock, Bodmin Moor and the Eden Project. Beach 3 miles. Shop 200 yards, pub and restaurant ½ mile.

Beautiful cottage set in a beautiful location with fantastic amenities. Arrived to a beautiful welcome cream tea (such a lovely welcome). I have read previous reviews and I have to say I cannot compliment this cottage enough - spotlessly clean, very welcoming and the smell of freshness in every room. Enjoyed our stay so much we have rebooked for next year. Thank you Jarvies Cottage for making us feel like home away from home with a lot of added extras. See you soon **

We had a great time at Jarvies Cottage. The location in Boscastle, and as others have said, is away from the harbour and up a steep hill. The walk down is easy but of course a little harder up but it was no problem for us as you can take your time enjoy looking at the many period properties en-route. It was very quiet and peaceful and having its own rear garden and parking space was great. The cottage was very clean and had everything you needed for a lovely break. We would certainly recommend Jarvies and please do not take any notice of the picky comments from some previous posts. Thank you again Dawn for a very enjoyable week & it was lovely to meet you.

What a lovely cottage! We were very happy with the cottage and everything provided within it. The garden was enclosed for our large bouncy Labrador and we went on walks to the harbour, through the main village car park down the Valency river and over the cliff tops to see the gorgeous views. There were plenty of pubs and cafes around. You can get large supermarket deliveries or it’s a 30 min drive, otherwise there are two small local shops and a farm shop. The hills are a killer but we already knew this. To give our dog a quick walk on a night we just went around the corner to the old castle site. The parking is tight but did just fit our people carrier (we realised after a couple of days that it is easier to reverse in, pull forward to park facing forwards, then reverse back to be able to drive out facing forwards). Will definitely return if in Cornwall and the price was good!

Delightful and comfortable cottage. Spacious and comfortable. Had an enclosed garden Parking, very difficult with an SUV Needs a guest information folder for clear and concise details about the property and emergency contacts eg nearest A&E and GP surgery

we were a little disappointed with the property. Our main concern was that bedding and lounge throws seemed to be dusty. I say this because my daughter and wife who are quite allergic to dust were sneezing and seemed to be affected by the bedding.Other aspects of the property which were a bit annoying were: the toaster wasn't working fully, the DVD player was jammed, the lighting in the kitchen was very poor, the instructions regarding rubbish and recycling were inadequate.Good points were: there was plenty of hot water, the garden is lovely, the house is in a very peaceful location.

Lovely cottage. Well worth the money. The dry is a clothes horse which is OK.found some of the reviews left to be wrong. Owners very helpful if we wanted anything. Booked it again same time next year. Looking forward to it.

Pictures are deceiving, got home had to wash clothes we hadn't even worn and even throw some away. Couldn't get rid of the musty/damp smell. Old cottage maybe but a damp issue is very present.

DAMP, COLD, SMALL, NO PARKING, NO TUMBLE DRYER (LIKE STATED). QUITE ISOLATED LOCATION. PICTURES ARE VERY DISCIEVING. OLD COTTAGE BUT PAINT PEELING OFF DAMP WALLS, MOULD IN THE BIG BEDROOM. THE WARDROBE MAKES YOUR CLOTHES SMELL MUSTY AND DAMP.

I absolutely loved Jarvies cottage, perfect for us, the cottage is surprisingly quiet and allows for privacy and yet down the road is a very busy Boswell Harbour!Good country pub close by and local convenience store too . Local bus service from Wadebridge to Bude near by.The only issue regarding Jarvies Cottage is the location, this is not suitable for anyone with mobility difficulties. Great base point for visiting other places but also equally lovely just to stay there at the cottage too.

Sehr schönes Cottage in einem hübschen Ort. Supermarkt gleich um die Ecke, lecker Pubs, Geschäfte und die Küste sind fußläufig erreichbar, tolle Strände, Tintagel aber auch das beeindruckende Bodmin Moor sind leicht mit dem Auto erreichbar. Wir hatten einen guten Kontakt zur Gastgeberin, die schnell und zuverläsig unsere Fragen beantwortete. Lieben Dank auch für den Cream Tea zur Begrüßung ! Wir haben uns sehr willkommen gefühlt :-)

Cottage lovely and comfortable, owner really helpful. Boscastle beautiful. Cottage is located in upper Boscastle, it was nice to be out of the busy centre but be prepared for steep walks down and up again. We loved it!

Location perfect for me and my dog but the steep climb up from the village was too much for my friend.Lots of nearby walks so there was no need to take the car every day and the Napolean pub just up the road was friendly with a good menu.The deep bath is wonderful for a long soak but would benefit with having a rail to help get in and out.
