Located on a quiet residential road, Ocean House is a gleaming white building, which houses a beautifully spacious family home. Immaculately presented, it balances both comfort with luxury. Spending any amount of time here, it’s clear to see that the owners of Ocean House, work in the world of interiors and design and have created a space where guests can enjoy Cornwall and all its delights. High standard, tasteful décor completes the lavish picture: luxurious beds, comfy sofas, a log burner, and luscious rear garden are all features which make this a delightful stay to remember for all the right reasons.

Arriving you’ll be greeted by a large, gated driveway, where Ocean House with its large sash-style windows and laidback coastal vibes await. Split over three floors, downstairs you’ll find a contemporary open-plan kitchen/diner with floor-to-ceiling windows and bi-folding doors out to the raised decking for inside/outside living. The kitchen is brimming with premium integrated appliances, including a Quooker Hot Water Tap, while the convenient separate utility room houses a washing machine, tumble dryer and additional fridge freezer.

On this floor you’ll also find an elegantly styled living space complete with two sinkable Loaf sofas, a Stûv wood-burning insert, large smartTV, and double aspects windows flooding the space with natural light. There’s a separate snug/office space for those who need to work while away, or kick back in peace. Plus, a handy downstairs WC.

On the second floor, choose between four beautifully appointed bedrooms. Will you opt for a king-size room with sea views, a further king size with its own shower ensuite, a room featuring a zip’n’link which can be set up as a twin or lavish king, or the cosy double with gorgeous countryside outlook. There’s also a newly renovated family bathroom with decadent Bert and May handmade tiles, a double sink, and large walk-in shower.

The master bedroom rightly deserves its own floor. Situated on the top level, the sumptuous king-size bed, stretching sea views, built-in storage space and a showstopping adjoining ensuite are calling. The ensuite is striking, with floor-to-ceiling windows, guests can enjoy a soak in the freestanding bath with views across the stunning Cornish countryside. There’s a separate walk-in shower, and his and her twin sinks.

Another property highlight has to be the stunning gardens here at Ocean House. A peaceful sanctuary, it’s bursting with lush flora, from apple and fig trees to agapanthus, hydrangeas and leafy Cornish palms, it’s a vibrant, botanical haven. An enclosed space, there’s no shortage of outdoor furniture here either to sit back and enjoy this serene spot, featuring award-winning designer Matthew Hilton’s outdoor chairs, tables and benches, plus two sun loungers. Guests can wash away a day at the beach with the handy heated outdoor shower, and if a day of adventuring has built up an appetite, why not enjoy some alfresco Cornish dining, taking advantage of the charcoal BBQ. Meanwhile at the front of the property guests can enjoy plenty of private parking, plus exclusive use of the built-in EV charger.

Guests can put their competitive streak to the test at Ocean House. If outdoor play is your thing, try your hand at pétanque. Much like the much-loved game of boules, the pitch is situated at the bottom of the garden. Or perhaps you’re a keen dartist or pool player, head to the games room where sporting challenges await, by the raised decking.

With Blue-Flag awarded Crooklets Beach less than a five-minute stroll away, you’re also in walking distance to Bude’s fabulous town centre, offering a variety of shops, restaurants, golf course, heritage attractions and plenty of walking opportunities for outdoor adventures.
