About

If you dream of being thirty seconds from the sea, this is the place for you. Can you imagine a more perfect property for a beachside holiday?

The Penarvor is one of Bude’s most exclusive developments. Comprising of ten luxury apartments, all benefitting from unrivalled south-facing sea views of the award-winning Crooklets Beach. The building itself is architecturally stunning, the contemporary design combines earthy Cornish stone and pristine glass fronting, with an industrial edge, and the beauty continues inside.

Ocean Edge is a dream coastal retreat. Located on the first floor, access is via a lift or small set of stairs. Blending modern elegance, with an awe-inspiring coastal outlook, it’s a delightful space to enjoy a Cornish holiday together. Whether you’re looking for a serene sanctuary to unwind or a stylish spot to entertain, this property offers it all.

Accessed via a lift, or small set of stairs, guests will enter into the spacious open-plan living/dining area. You’ll be greeted with floor-to-ceiling windows, which floods the space with natural light and provides uninterrupted, panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean, best enjoyed from the private glass-fronted balcony.

With a nod to clean and crisp Scandinavian interior, Ocean Edge is a tranquil place, with its comforting underfloor heating and sounds of the ocean beyond. As well as the calm, coastal atmosphere, it’s reassuringly practical, too. Guests can relax on the black leather sofa or armchair, and enjoy the wall-mounted smart TV for when they tire of the se view; while the well-equipped kitchen, with its sleek cabinets and high-end appliances, ensure you’re well catered for.

Sleeping four, both bedrooms are bright and welcoming, with lavish king-sized beds, chunky oak furnishings and benefitting from their own Juliet balconies. The master bedroom suite also features an en-suite with walk-in shower. The contemporary bathroom has been stylishly designed with industrial-inspired grey tiles, featuring a bathtub with a built-in shower.

This property’s wow factor has to be the private south-facing balcony at the front of the property. Complete with outdoor furniture, while away the hours here as you watch the waves roll in as you enjoy your morning coffee, or an alfresco sunset dinner. Or if you want to be amongst the action, you are just moments away from the beach.

The apartment also has access to a well-maintained communal garden shared with other residents in the complex, and you won’t need to worry about parking with your own private parking space and complimentary electric car charger. There’s also a convenient wetsuit ‘drip dry zone’ and outdoor shower, for washing away a day spent at the beach.

The Penarvor’s coastal location is hard to beat. With Blue-Flag awarded Crooklets Beach in reaching distance, you’re also only a stone’s throw from Bude’s vibrant town centre, offering a variety of shops, restaurants, and heritage attractions. The scenic South West Coast Path is also on your doorstep, offering endless opportunities for outdoor adventures.

Activities

Bude sits on the North Cornwall and Devon border and offers a traditional beachside holiday for couples and families alike.

There are two sandy beaches located in the town itself, Summerleaze Beachand Crooklets Beach. Both have beach huts available for hire and overlooking Summerleaze Beach is the Bude Sea Pool, which is a free tidal swimming pool that is run and maintained by a team of volunteers (so donations are welcomed). Other beaches only a couple of miles away are Widemouth Bay, Northcott Mouth and Sandymouth Beach, all of which showcase dramatic scenery.

There are a variety of cafes and bars if you are looking to eat out, from The Barge (a floating cafe on Bude’s canal) to The Beach that serves fine dining and cocktails with fantastic views out to sea. A couple of miles outside of Bude at Northcott Mouth, The Rustic Tea Garden serves cream teas with generous amount of proper Cornish clotted cream.

If you are seeking an active holiday, then Bude has a number of surf, paddleboard and adventure activity schools to help you have fun, whilst staying safe. Bude’s beaches are favoured with surfers, kite surfers and paddle boarders. There are surf hire huts too, for those who are just ‘trying it out’.

The Bude canal has fun for all the family with pedal boats and rowing boats for hire, followed by a spot of shopping on the canal side at The Wharf, where you will find many local artisan items for sale. Throughout summer, there is also the Bude Farmers Market held each Friday and you can also find a proper Cornish ice-cream here to cool down with.

Widemouth Bay sits just a couple of miles south of Bude and while it benefits from all the Bude has to offer, is a slightly quieter setting. It is a beachside village dotted with cafes and bars, plus everything you need for a great day at the beach. Surf hire and surf schools are available and there is a very chilled out feeling to this area.

Bude and Widemouth Bay are close to the A39, which makes it easy to explore the North Cornwall and Devon coastline. Only a short drive away are the historic villages of Tintagel and Boscastle, steeped in legends and folklore. Padstow is also only an hours drive from Bude, and is favoured among foodies with many talented chefs serving up fresh local food.
