This glorious accommodation in fabulous Falmouth is located in Swanpool just moments from the sea.
Spacious, set over three floors, it is perfectly sized for an extended family or friend group and its location is second to none. Swanpool is on the scenic west side of the vibrant university town of Falmouth, on the outskirts of the centre (about 1.5 miles or 5 minutes’ drive away). With its own sandy cove, Swanpool is a ‘happening’ place with a lively atmosphere, but also offers the opportunity to enjoy nature and tranquility.
This beautiful, light-filled designer detached three-storey property offers you contemporary seaside luxury. High-end splendour, the tasteful furnishing creates exactly the holiday setting you want, while the ‘upside down’ design maximises the wonderful views over the Fal Estuary and Swanpool Lake. The house is decorated in seaside neutrals and ocean colours, to ‘bring the outside in’, with a combination of rich blues, turquoise teals and warm whites to complement the views of Swanpool Beach.
Top floor contains the open-plan family living/dining/kitchen area and balcony with outdoor seating, perfect for morning coffee in the open air.
With four bedrooms, three king-sized and one double, all with ensuites (2 with baths/showers over, 2 with showers) you have space and privacy. Each bedroom also has its own Smart TV. The first floor is home to three of the bedrooms with ensuites, plus an additional study, with a single sofa bed, if needed. Quality WiFi is available throughout the accommodation.
Downstairs to the ground floor, with ample parking for two cars on the driveway, the garage has been converted to a good-sized games room for all your family entertainment needs. The games room offers storage, a football table and a pool table plus a bar area, a utility room, WC, and the fourth bedroom.
The sea views are also appreciated from the bubbling hot tub in the garden, which accommodate all guests and is the perfect place to relax after a day at the beach. You will also find a gas barbecue with fridge and seated dining area.
It is so gorgeous here that you might want to stay in all day, but if you choose to go out, then Swanpool Beach is but a 3-minute walk away. When you return, there is a hanging space outside to dry off your wetsuits and a hot outdoor shower.
Located close to Falmouth Golf Course and Country Club, with its new club house, golfers have a top-quality course to hand. Meanwhile, surrounded by an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty boasting dramatic coastline, there are beautiful walks. If you stroll to the beach, you can find an array of watersports to try, such as kayaking, windsurfing and sailing. Don’t miss Swanpool Nature Reserve, also within walking distance as it backs onto the beach; make sure you take time out to relax while feeding the swans and ducks.

Activities
Superb Swanpool is a beautiful area on the outskirts of Falmouth, renowned for its fabulous fresh and salt-water nature reserve. Surrounded by rare wet woodland, there is an array of wildlife here – look out for elusive but beautiful kingfishers. Drink in the views, while feeding tame swans and ducks in this tranquil setting which is a SSSI (Site of Special Scientific Interest), home to many bird species, and the rare Trembling Sea Mat, a microscopic animal found nowhere else in the UK. You can get closer if you take a rowing boat on the lagoon. Originally, local landowners kept their feasting birds here but now it is a highly desirable area for visitors, with a small, clean beach and beach cafe nearby. Crazy golf is another fun option, while under 14s will adore the fun-bouncer.
The welcoming, friendly and fun beach area is known for its colourful beach huts. It is sheltered for safer swimming, while the cafe is home to ‘quirky ice creams’ (covered in sweets, fruits or chocolates) and ‘barefoot dinners’ of sumptuous seafood feasts. At its northern end, it is just a short walk via a path to Falmouth’s larger blue-flag Gyllyngvase Beach. Elemental UK watersports is also based on the beach for equipment hire (kayaks are fun) and tuition in a wide range of adrenaline activities. Meanwhile, for the more sedate, Falmouth Golf Club nearby welcomes visitors.
Slightly further afield is fabulous Falmouth which sits by the Fal estuary. It has a National Maritime Museum, and many other attractions. Although a large town by Cornish standards, it is easily explored on foot, with a working harbour and docks area (it is a large port), beaches and shops in the town centre. Look out for characterful 18th century buildings and an array of independent shops. The National Maritime Museum is a magnificent rainy day activity, with twelve galleries set over three floors. In the town, children will love counting steps on Jacob’s Ladder, which is simply a shortcut created by a local called Jacob, who wanted to get to his house quicker.
Falmouth is a university town with a young, exuberant vibe. Of course, the town has a Rick Stein’s for dinner or takeaways, and you will find many other wonderful places to eat/drink in our Guide.
Falmouth is guarded by a grassy headland with a Tudor Castle, Pendennis, built by order of Henry VIII and paired with St Mawes. It is free for English Heritage members.
You can catch a 20 minute ferry to St Mawes, on the Roseland Peninsula, for another day out, and maybe a pasty lunch. Ferries run every half hour.
August brings the largest regatta in the south west to Falmouth, while October offers the Falmouth Oyster Festival. Sea shanties grew popular this year on Tik Tok, but long before that June was established as the month for the not-to-bee-missed international Falmouth Sea Shanty Festival.

Very well equipped house in a quiet location, 5 minute walk to Swanpool beach. Enjoyed the small landscaped garden with hot tub and BBQ
